How to Keep QuickTime Out of My Start Menu

    • 1). Stop QuickTime from adding itself to your Start menu when you install it. After the installation process, a window will appear giving you the option to add a QuickTime shortcut to your Start menu and desktop. Click "Cancel" to prevent this action from completing.

    • 2). Remove QuickTime from your Windows XP Start menu if you accidentally confirmed the addition of QuickTime to your Start menu. If you have Windows Vista, skip to Step 4. Click "Start" in the bottom-left corner of the Windows XP screen.

    • 3). Find the QuickTime icon and right-click it. Click "Unpin from Start Menu" to remove QuickTime from the Start menu.

    • 4). Delete QuickTime from your Windows Vista Start menu. Click "Start" in the bottom-left corner of Windows Vista.

    • 5). Find the blue QuickTime icon and right-click it. Select "Remove from this list."
