My SanDisk Has No DCIM Folder: How Do I Format It?

    • 1). Insert your SanDisk card, flash drive or other device into the computer.

    • 2). Click "Start," and then click the "Computer" icon to view your removable drives.

    • 3). Right-click your SanDisk card, flash drive or other device under "Drives with removable storage" and click "Format."

    • 4). Leave the "Capacity" setting as it is. Click the drop-down box under "File System" and select "FAT32" if your drive has 4GB or more of space. Otherwise, select "FAT" as the "File System" type.

    • 5). Leave the "Allocation unit size" field blank. Type in a name for your SanDisk card, flash drive or other device under the "Volume label" field.

    • 6). Click "Start" to begin formatting your SanDisk card, flash drive or other device. Click "Close" when the system alerts you that the formatting is complete.

    • 7). Click "Start," and then click "Computer." Double-click the SanDisk card, flash drive or other device under "Drives with removable storage."

    • 8). Right-click within the card and select "New Folder." Type in and save the name for the folder as DCIM.
