- 1). Unplug all external devices from your Dell D610, such as a microphone, speaker or external drive.
- 2). Turn on your computer and as it is booting up press and hold the "Ctrl" button and then press the "F11" button. Release them at the same time. At this point on your screen you will see "Dell PC Restore By Symantec."
- 3). Click on, or tab down to, "Restore" and then press the "Enter" key.
- 4). Confirm that you wish to restore your computer by clicking on "Confirm," and then press "Enter" once again. At this point you will see a progress window appear on your screen. The entire restoration process will take approximately 10 minutes.
- 5). Click "Finish" to restart your computer when prompted.
- 1). Remove all peripheral or unnecessary external devices from your Dell, such as microphones, speakers, etc.
- 2). Turn on your Dell and press "F8" as the computer is booting up. You must press "F8" before the Windows screen appears, or you will have to do it again. Pressing "F8" will open the Advanced Boot Options window.
- 3). Highlight "Repair Your Computer" by moving down the screen with the down arrow, and then click on "Enter."
- 4). Choose your desired language setting and then click on "Next." At this point you may be asked to log on as an administrator. Once you have logged on, select "OK" and then "Dell Factory Image Restore." Click "Next" to continue.
- 5). Confirm that you wish to continue with the restoration by clicking the box next to the option to reformat the computer and restore the software to factory conditions. This begins the restore process, and you will be notified on-screen when it is complete. When you receive the notification, click "Finish" to restart your computer that is now at factory settings.
