How to Choose a Picture for a User Account and Start Menu in Windows Vista

    • 1). Click the "Start" button, then click on "Control Panel." Your Control Panel will open.

    • 2). Make sure "Classic View" is selected in the Control Panel task pane on the left. Double-click "User Accounts." The User Accounts screen will open.

    • 3). Click "Change Your Picture" if you want to change the picture for the username under which you are currently logged in. If you want to change the picture for another user account and you have Administrator status, click on "Manage Another Account" and click "Change the Picture."

    • 4). Choose a picture for your account by clicking on one of the images provided. You can also click "Browse for More Pictures" to find a picture that you have saved on your computer. When you find the one you want, click "Open."

    • 5). Click "Change Picture," and the picture you chose will appear at the top right-hand side of your Start menu, as well as on your computer's log-in screen. Close the User Accounts window.
