String beads onto a pipe cleaner or a length of jewelry wire, depending on what type of ornament you'd like to make. Pipe cleaners work well for smaller children and larger, rounded beads or pony beads. The jewelry wire works for tri-beads that fit together and may be a good project for older children.

Twist the beaded pipe cleaner or wire into the shape of the ornament you'd like to make. Some options are a bell, wreath or candy cane. Twist together more than one pipe cleaner or wire to create a beaded snowflake.

Pinch the ends of the wire into a loop with pliers to secure the beads. If you're using pipe cleaners, simply twist the end of the pipe cleaner to secure the ornament.

Tie a ribbon around your decoration to hang it on the tree.
