- 1). Cast on 56 stitches. Split the stitches between three of the needles, reserving the final needle for knitting. Place a marker at the beginning of the row.
- 2). Knit five rows all the way around. Be sure to slide the marker to the next needle as you advance each row. Purl one row to mark the cuff. Knit 2 inches from the purled row.
- 3). Add one stitch, and knit five stitches. Add one more stitch and then complete the row with knitting. Knit three more rows. Add one stitch, knit five and add another stitch, then knit the rest of the row. Repeat this, increasing every four rows until you have added 17 stitches. Remove the 17 extra stitches onto a cabling pin.
- 4). Cast on six stitches and mark this as the new end of the row. Knit enough rows to cover 1 1/2 inches.
- 5). Slide the next 43 stitches onto a large cabling pin, leaving 16 stitches on the needles. Cast on five stitches. Divide the 21 stitches between the three needles and knit around these stitches for 2 1/4 inches. Decrease the number of stitches by knitting two together every row until there are six stitches left. Tie these stitches together.
- 6). Slide seven stitches from the left-hand side of the cable pin. This is the back side of the glove. Cast on five stitches, then pull five stitches from the right side of the cable pin or the front of the glove and then cast on three more stitches. Knit enough rows to create 2 1/4 inches of knitting. Finish the finger to six stitches the same as the index finger.
- 7). Pull seven stitches from the back of the cable pin, and cast on four stitches. Add five stitches from the front of the cable pin and cast on three more stitches. Finish the same as the first finger.
- 8). Place the last 15 stitches on two of the double needles. Cast on three more stitches and knit enough rows to make 1 3/4 inches of knitting. Finish the finger tip the same as the first finger.
- 9). Place all of the stitches for the thumb on three needles. Increase the six cast on stitches to eight by adding a stitch at the beginning and the end. Knit to create 2 inches of knitting. Finish the fingertip the same as the fingers.
- 10
Knit the left hand glove in the same way except slide the previous 43 stitches for the rest of the glove when separating out the thumb instead of the next 43 stitches. - 1). Measure the circumference of the glove's cuff.
- 2). Lay the fur right side down on the cutting board.
- 3). Line up one side of the triangle along the selvage with the tip on the cut edge of the fur. Draw a line diagonally across the fur. Use a yardstick to extend the line diagonally all the way across the back of the fur.
- 4). Measure 2 inches from the line and make marks every 4 inches. Using the straight edge of the ruler to join these lines. Measure 2 inches from the new line and draw a third line.
- 5). Cut a strip of fur 1 inch longer than the cuff for each glove.
- 6). Fold each strip of fur in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Starting at the inside center of the wrist, whip stitch the edges of the fur to the cuff of the gloves.
- 7). Tuck the end of the fur under the sewn edge and stitch the ends together.
