- 1). Measure the letters and decide where you want to hang them. Use the pencil to make a small dot at the location of each letter.
- 2). Cut 18-inches of ribbon for each letter. Make a loop with the ribbon and tie knots to secure the loop.
- 3). Flip the letters over and use a staple gun to attach the ribbon loop to two points on the back of each letter. Some letters --- like the letter A --- will not have two points, if you are attaching the ribbon loop at the top; however, you can attach the ribbon loop toward the middle of the letter to allow them to lean from the wall and give you more area to secure the ribbon. If attaching in the middle use 2-feet of ribbon for each letter.
- 4). Hammer nails or picture frame hooks into the wall at each point you marked earlier.
- 5). Hang the letters to make sure they are where you want them and then take them down to add a decorative bow.
- 6). Cut 24-inches of ribbon for each letter.
- 7). Measure down on each piece 4 inches from one end and make a light mark with the pencil.
- 8). Fold the ribbon at the mark with the tail of the ribbon on the underside. Wrap the ribbon around to make another loop and wrap the tail around once more. This gives you two loops side by side, with one tail on the underside and one on the top-side.
- 9). Fold the ribbon to find the center. Tie a knot in the end of the thread and stitch the ribbon every 1/8 of an inch until you reach the other side. The number of stitches will depend on the width of ribbon you are using.
- 10
Hold the stitched ribbon in one hand and pull the thread with the other. The knot in the end of the thread will pull the ribbon in the center and gather it. - 11
Wrap the thread around the center a few times and tie a knot to secure the thread. Add a dab of hot glue over the knot to secure. - 12
Cut 3-inches of ribbon for each letter. Tie a knot in the center of the ribbon and use hot glue to attach the knot to the gathered center of the bow, gluing the ends to the underside of the bow. - 13
Glue the finished bow to the top of the ribbon loop on each letter.
