- Kia recommends checking the power steering fluid level and transmission fluid level as well as changing the engine oil and oil filter every 3,750 miles. At this time, Kia also recommends checking the coolant level, brake fluid level, windshield washer fluid level and tire pressure and condition. Finally, all latches, hinges and locks should be lubricated.
- Each time your Kia tallies an additional 7,500 miles or six months of daily driving, Kia recommends first performing a general inspection of the wiper blades and all hoses under the hood. The battery, engine drive belts, cooling system, brake pads, calipers and underbody fasteners must also be checked. The tires must also be rotated at this time to ensure even wear and tear is maintained. Finally, the transfer case oil level, front and rear differential fluid, and transaxle fuild level and condition should be checked. All items in the 3,750 mile check should also be completed.
- The 15,000-mile check includes an inspection of your Kia's fuel system, suspension, steering components, drive-axle boots, air conditioning system and exhaust system. In addition, the valve clearances should be adjusted and the air filter replaced. These activities should be performed in addition to the 3,750 mile and 7,500 mile maintenance.
- The 24-month or 30,000-mile maintenance schedule includes replacement of the spark plugs and wires, fuel filter, distributor cap, radiator cap and hoses, PCV valve and rotor. It may also be necessary to adjust the engine idle speed. The brake fluid, manual transaxle lubricant and transmission fluid must be changed every 30,000 miles. Finally, the interior cabin filter, water pump, ignition wires and timing belts should be changed.
