How to Carve an Orange Like a Pumpkin

    • 1). Draw your design on the skin of the orange. Use a washable marker if drawing directly onto the orange. If using a stencil, tape it to the skin and prick the design into the orange using a knife point, a nail or a sharp pencil.

    • 2). Cut between 3/4-inch to 1 inch off the top of the orange and set to one side. Carefully remove the orange pulp with a small spoon or melon baller. Leave the pith and skin intact to ensure a firm wall for carving.

    • 3). Cut the design out of the skin of the hollowed orange.

    • 4). Wash the fruit to remove lines from the marker, if used. Dry and buff the skin. Insert the night light and replace the top of the orange.
