- 1). Pre-wash the fabric and iron. Measure the length of the window from the top to the bottom. Add 8 inches to the measurement and cut the 45 inch wide fabric to that length.
- 2). Turn all edges over half an inch and sew a clean finished hem around the curtain. Turn the bottom hem up 3 inches and pin. Sew the hem in place.
- 3). Turn down the top edge of the fabric 4 inches. Pin into place. Sew three seams in this area to make the pocket. Sew a seam 1 and a half inches from the fold line. Sew the second seam 3 inches from the fold line. Sew the third seam along the bottom edge of the 4 inch folded fabric.
- 4). Slide the curtain through the middle section of sewing to form a 1 and a half inch top and a 1-inch hem line. Evenly gather the curtain on the curtain rod and hang on window.
