- 1). Make the floor stands of the stitchery frame first. Cut four 1 1/2-inch pieces of PVC pipe 10 inches long. Connect each pair to the straight ends of a T-connector using PVC adhesive.
- 2). Measure, mark and cut two 10-inch pieces of 1 1/2-inch PVC pipe. Glue a T-connector on the end of one of them and glue the other end into the open slot in the floor stand assembly, being sure that the "T" faces inward. Repeat this process with the other 10-inch piece and the other floor stand.
- 3). Measure, mark and cut two 20-inch and one 25-inch pieces of 1 1/2-inch PVC pipe. Glue the 25-inch piece between the two floor stand assemblies. Glue one end of the two 20-inch pieces into the open vertical slot in the T-connector attached to the 10-inch floor stand assembly.
- 4). Use a power drill to drill a 1/4-inch hole through the tip of the open-end of the 20-inch pieces of PVC pipe. These holes should be horizontal, through the inside and outside edges of the piece and level with the floor.
- 5). Create the sewing frame by measuring and cutting two 12-inch and two 25-inch pieces of 3/4-inch PVC pipe. Use 90-degree elbows to glue them into a 12-inch-by-25-inch rectangle.
- 6). Drill the connector holes through the sewing frame, midway along the short sides of the 12-inch-by-25-inch frame. Make the holes parallel to the long sides of the rectangle so they can be aligned with the drilled holes in the top end of the 20-inch pieces.
- 7). Connect the sewing frame to the drilled ends of the 20-inch pieces of PVC pipe using 1/4-inch by 2 1/2-inch thumb screws. Tighten the thumbscrews to hold the sewing frame in a fixed position in the stitchery frame.
