- 1). Lay the first Oklahoma University blanket or sheet flat on the floor. Blankets will give you a thicker, heavier quilt, while sheets will make a relatively light quilt.
- 2). Lay the cotton batting across the sheet, making sure that the batting fills the entire space, with a little bit of room by the edges. A standard twin-size blanket is 39 inches by 75 inches, so purchase batting that is slightly smaller in both directions.
- 3). Lay the second sheet or blanket on top of the batting, making sure to line it up perfectly with the first one.
- 4). Pin the blankets securely together around the entire border using the straight pins.
- 5). Sew around the border using a needle and thread or a sewing machine.
- 6). Remove the straight pins.
