• Wiper arms are necessary equipment for moving vehicles. Wiper arms have the ability to allow the driver to maneuver through rain and other precipitation, like light snow, mist, or drizzle, making the road safer for all drivers involved. Universal Side Pin Type

• A universal wiper replaces the standard arm with a side pin. The wiper locks into the pin and works just as well as the factory wiper. The universal side pin has a removal pin on the side of the wiper arm. Parts to the universal side pin include retaining tabs, pin, arm, frame hinge and grips to hold on to when replacing the arm.
  
  ANCO and Trico have a few variations to the side pin model. With ANCO, the locking button is pressed to release the spring and take the wiper away from the pin. Trico has three different side pin types. In one, the spring is depressed by using a small Phillips head screwdriver, and the wiper is removed from the pin. The spring lock is pulled up and the wiper slides out. Newer Trico side pine types have a flexor on the arm at the hinge, which releases the wiper arm from the pin.
  
  

Bayonet-Type

• Bayonet-type wiper arms are named after the bayonet gun because of the lift and release mechanism. An ANCO bayonet wiper arm is released by depressing the spring lock from the underside of the wiper arm and sliding the wiper arm off. With the Trico brand, you raise the arm itself up and press the latch down, releasing to remove the wiper arm.
  
  

Dead Lock Type

• A dead lock wiper arm has a release button underneath the wiper itself. Pressing this button releases the lock for wiper arm replacement.
