- 1). Purchase a book that can be used as a keepsake book. If a keepsake book cannot be found, a simple sketch book with blank pages and a sturdy hard cover will serve the purpose. Sketch book paper is often thicker than regular paper, so it will be able to support the glue and fabric for the keepsake.
- 2). Organize chapters or sections for the keepsake book. While some create keepsakes in chronological order, others prefer a random order. Do what suits your needs and desires. Write down the names of the sections for the keepsake.
- 3). Organize pictures so they suit each category.
- 4). Lay the pictures, fabric pieces, decorative paper and pre-cut flower designs out on each piece of paper, until the desired effect has been reached. Make space to write a customized message for each picture. Make sure to design and decorate it completely before gluing it to the paper.
- 5). Let each page dry before continuing on to the next page, so the paper is not soggy or damaged by the glue. Let it dry for at least ten minutes. This way, the glue will dry and prevent the the pages from sticking together.
- 6). Complete the keepsake by writing a note or a story that goes with each section, if sections are created. This is a good method to remember dates, locations and individuals who attended the event.
