How to Remove the Stock Radio From My 1991 Honda Civic

    • 1). Raise the Civic's hood. Loosen the grounding cable clamp with the wrench. Remove the cable from the negative battery terminal. Move to the inside of the Honda.

    • 2). Remove the two bolts from below the radio unit with an 8-mm socket and a ratchet.

    • 3). Push the radio from the underside of the Civic's dashboard by hand. Once relieved from the front of the radio dock, grab the radio and pull it from the dash. Pull it out far enough that the cables connected to the back of the unit are accessible.

    • 4). Unplug the stereo wiring connectors from the outlets on the back of the radio. Unplug the antenna cable lead from the FM antenna outlet on the back of the stock radio to finish the removal.
