- 1). Hold the bottom of the bobbin between your thumb and index finger. The bottom of the bobbin can be either one of the circles that caps the spindle in the center of the bobbin.
- 2). Pull 1 foot of thread from the thread spool.
- 3). Place the end of the thread between the bottom of the bobbin and your thumb.
- 4). Wind the rest of the thread around the spindle of the bobbin in a clockwise motion.
- 5). Continue winding the thread until the wound thread is even with the circles that cap the spindle in the center of the bobbin.
- 6). Cut the tail of thread that you have been holding with your thumb. Use the other end of the strand to tread the sewing machine.
