- 1). Open Windows Explorer, then click on "Tools," then "Folder Options". Select "Show Hidden files and folders." Remove the "Hide protected operating system files" selection. Place your XP CD into the CD drive. Select "My Computer" in Windows Explorer and copy your XP CD, which is in you "C:/" drive.
- 2). Go back to Step 1 and undo the changes to the View options. Create a Notepad file called fixdell.inf and be careful to save it as an .inf file. The signature for the file is Windows NT. When prompted, enter the name Fix Dell Windows XP OEM boot problems. The enabler is the number 1. Source the following disk files as 4,,4: iastor.sys, a320raid.sys, aarich.sys, cercsr6.sys, afamgt.sys, afamgt.sys, NcAtaBus.sys, and nvraid.sys.The plug-in will copy the files to you UBCD4WinBuilder.ISO image, which will correct the UBCD boot problems.
- 3). Create a folder and call it Dell in the C:/UBCD4Win/plugin folder. Copy the fixdell.inf into the Dell folder. Download a file named subinacl from Microsoft. This is an installer package from subinacl.exe. Double click on the program to install.
- 4). Open C:/ProgramFiles/WindowsResourceKits/Tools in Windows Explorer. Copy subinacl to the i386 folder of the copy of the XP CD that you created in the C:/ drive.
- 5). Create a Notepad file and name it fixdell.cmd with the following script code: REM Version 1.3

Visit output and make sure there are no errors. This will replace the security settings. - 6). Save the file, copy it to the folder titled i386 that you copied to the C:/ drive. In Windows Explorer, go to the i386 folder of the XP CD that you copied to the same drive. Click on fixdell.cmd, which you also created. This will execute the file. Restart your computer.
- 7). Run the UBCD4WinBuilder, which prompts the source path to Windows installation files that are located in the XP SP2 folder. If completed successfully, you can now burn UBCD4WinBuilder.ISO to a CD.
