- 1). Open the glove box of your boat and locate the fuel tank. Look at the fuel gauge on the dashboard and determine the amount of fuel you have in the tank.
- 2). Open the fuel cap and pour the correct amount of fuel stabilizer into the tank. Refer to the label on the can for proper fuel/stabilizer ratios.
- 3). Remove the drain plug located at the rear of the boat with a wrench.
- 4). Open the engine compartment and remove the flame arrestor from the carburetor with a wrench. The flame arrestor is the round air filter mounted on top of the carburetor. Inspect the flame arrestor and clean it as necessary.
- 5). Connect the out drive muffs to a garden hose. Place the muffs onto the out drive over the impeller vents. Turn the water source on, so the water is running to the out drive muffs. Allow the air pockets to circulate through the hose.
- 6). Start the engine and allow it to idle for at least 10 minutes.
- 7). Spray fogging oil into the carburetor. Open the flaps and liberally spray the carburetor until the engine dies.
- 8). Turn the water off and remove the out drive muffs from the engine.
- 9). Replace the flame arrestor onto the carburetor and install the nut. Tighten it using a wrench.

Remove the drain plugs located on the bottom of the engine with a wrench. There are four drain plugs located under the water jackets. Allow the water to drain from the engine before reinstalling them. - 11
Lower the out drive to the ground to keep the gears inside lubricated by pressing the button on the throttle. - 12
Disconnect the battery terminals with a wrench.
