- 1). Pull the sock onto your non-dominant hand so your fingertips are in the toe area and your thumb in the heel area. Tuck the sock fabric between these two areas into the palm of your hand to form the shape of the frog's mouth.
- 2). Place two dots of glue on the top of the sock puppet; one dot should be between the knuckles of your index and middle fingers and one between the knuckles of your ring and little fingers. Stick a cotton ball onto each dot of glue.
- 3). Cut two small circles---approximately the circumference of a pencil eraser---out of black felt. Glue one dot onto each cotton ball to make the pupils of the frog's eyes. Center them for a classic look or place them off-kilter for a wacky frog face.
- 4). Use a black permanent or fabric marker to place two dots on the top of the frog's mouth, near your fingertips. The dots should be approximately on either side of your index finger. These will be the frog's nostrils.
- 5). Cut out a circle from the pink felt. The circle should be as large as the open side of your hand. Open your puppet hand and lay the circle on your palm for the inside of the frog's mouth. Trim the sides of the circle to make it fit the mouth area and cut the shape in half. Glue these felt pieces to the puppet.
- 6). Cut a long, skinny strip of red felt approximately a 1/2-inch wide and 10 inches long. Glue the short end of this strip in the center of the frog's mouth. Roll up the other end into the mouth and hold it there with your hand. When you open the sock puppet's mouth, its tongue will roll out like it is catching a fly.
