Making a Folding Corner
- To make a folding corner, cut the squares of fabric you will use to make your folded corners to the proper size, using your quilt pattern as a guide. Flip the square over and use a straightedge to draw one diagonal line running from corner to corner so that the back of your square is divided into two equal triangles. Place the small square on top of the large square in the corner with the wrong side facing up so you can see your line. Line up the edges of both squares and make sure the diagonal line touches the adjacent sides of the larger square. Stitch along the line. Then trim the edge closest to the outside of the square a quarter inch from the stitched line. Using the tip of an iron, flip the remaining piece over and press it toward the seam allowance.
