Clay Toadstools

• 1). Form the cap of a toadstool by rolling a 1-inch ball of white polymer clay and flattening one side so it looks like a half-dome. Make a half-inch ball using red polymer clay and flatten it with your palm until it's large enough to fit over the white dome. Mold the red disk into place over the white dome.
  
  
• 2). Create the spots for the toadstool by making tiny balls of white clay, flattening them and pressing them into place throughout the red clay covering the cap.
  
  
• 3). Mold the stem for the toadstool with white clay. Make it a cylindrical shape that's approximately a half-inch wide and 1 inch tall. Press the stem into the center of the cap's bottom to attach.
  
  
• 4). Insert a wooden skewer into the finished toadstool form if you plan to display it in a garden. Press the skewer into the bottom of the stem and continue insertion until the skewer hits the base of the cap. Press the other end of the skewer into the dirt of your garden. Leave this step out if you plan to display the toadstool on a shelf or other solid surface.
  
  

Wooden Toadstools

• 1). Draw the shape of a toadstool onto a piece of wood that's approximately 18 millimeters thick using a pencil.
  
  
• 2). Use a jigsaw or scroll saw to cut the toadstool shape along the pencil outline. Sand the edges smooth with sandpaper.
  
  
• 3). Paint the toadstool cutout using white paint for the stem and red paint for the cap. Add white spots to the cap after the red paint dries.
  
  
• 4). Drill a small hole in the top of the toadstool shape to create a hanging ornament or screw the toadstool to a flat wood base to make it stand upright. You can also mount it to a wall.
  
  

Tissue Paper Toadstools

• 1). Draw the outline of a toadstool onto a piece of poster board or cardboard.
  
  
• 2). Use scissors to cut out the shape along the outline.
  
  
• 3). Cut a 1-inch square of white tissue paper. Crumple this square into a small ball. Add a dab of glue to the tissue paper ball and press the ball onto the stem section of the toadstool cutout. Repeat this until the entire stem section is covered with white tissue paper balls. Create more tissue paper balls and glue clusters of a few white tissue paper balls in the cap section of the toadstool to create white spots. Cut out 1-inch squares of red tissue paper and glue them around the white spots in the cap section. Repeat this until the cap section is filled in with red tissue paper balls.
