How to Remove Odor From Chinese Toys

    Cleaning Soft Toys

    • 1). Sprinkle baking soda over the entire surface of the toy. Baking soda is a natural odor absorber that is food grade and completely non-toxic.

    • 2). Work the baking soda into the toy, using the toothbrush to work deeply into the toy's fur or nap of the fabric.

    • 3). Let the baking soda sit overnight or for several hours, then shake it off into a trash can.

    • 4). Comb the toy to remove all of the baking soda.

    • 5). Repeat the process if the smell is still noticeable.

    Cleaning Hard Toys

    • 1). Remove the batteries from the toy.

    • 2). Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. White vinegar is a natural odor neutralizer that is food grade and completely non-toxic.

    • 3). Spray the white vinegar over the entire toy. Let it sit for several minutes, then wipe it off.

    • 4). Repeat the process if the smell is still apparent.
