- 1). Launch your Web browser and go to Dmoz.org.
- 2). Type your website's URL address into the search input field and click the "Search" button. Read through the search results to check that DMOZ hasn't already listed your website. If your site doesn't appear, press the "Back" button on your Web browser to return to the DMOZ homepage.
- 3). Click the category and subcategory links on the homepage to browse through DMOZ and find the most appropriate category for your website. A DMOZ editor will check your submission, so make sure that you select a relevant category.
- 4). Click the "Suggest URL" link in the gray menu bar under the main navigation menu on the category or subcategory page to which you want to submit your site. This opens the "Submit a Site to the Open Directory" page. Read the detailed submission policies and instructions carefully.
- 5). Complete the online submission form. You must enter the URL address of your website or blog, the title of the site and a brief description of the site's content that does not exceed 30 words.
- 6). Type your email address into the email input field. Type the security CAPTHCA code into the "User Verification" input box. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.
