Clear the Garage Door Opener on a Used Passat

• 1). If your Volkswagen Passat was previously owned or it has been previously programed to open a different door you need to clear the old codes from the transmitter.
  
  
• 2). Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position. Do not start the engine.
  
  
• 3). Hold down buttons 1 and 3 on the Passat garage door opener for twenty 20.
  
  
• 4). When the lights begin to flash, let go. The codes are now cleared.
  
  

Program a Passat Wagon Garage Door Opener

• 1). Hold down the button on the Passat garage door opener you wish to program.
  
  
• 2). After about 20 seconds, the light will begin to flash slowly. Continue holding down the button on the Passat garage door opener. Hold down the button on the garage door transmitter, and hold the transmitter 3 to 4 inches from the transmitter mounted in the Passat.
  
  
• 3). The process is complete when the light on the Passat garage door opener starts blinking more quickly.
  
  
• 4). Remove the key from the ignition.
