Select the "Next" button to choose the full installation, then click "Next" to leave the Start Menu VNC default name. Clear the "Additional Tasks" boxes and click the "Next" button. Click the "Next" button, then the "Install" button, and then the "Next" button again. Once the installation has completed, click the "Finish" button.

    • 3). Select the "Start" button, select "All Programs," then point to the VNC program group. Click the "VNC Server (Service-Mode)" item in the menu that appears, and select "Register VNC Service." Select the "OK" button in the window that displays and reboot the computer.

Click the "Authentication" tab in the window that appears, then select the "Configure" button. Enter a password and click "OK." Click the "Connections" tab, click the "Accept connections on port" box, then click the "OK" button.

    • 5). Perform the above installation procedure on each Windows computer that will remotely connect to the Windows XP Home computer. Then, select the "Start" button on the VNC Viewer client computer and type "vncviewer.exe" in the "Search" box if running Windows 7 or Vista, or type "vncviewer.exe" in the "Run" box if using Windows XP, then tap the "Enter" key. In the VNC Viewer window that appears, select the "Server:" field and type the IP address of the Windows XP Home Edition computer that is running the VNC Server service, then tap the "Enter" key. Enter the access password when requested and click the "OK" button. The desktop of the Windows XP Home Edition computer will appear in the VNC Viewer window.
