How to Run 32-Bit Software on 64-Bit OS in Vista

    • 1). Open the installer file for the 32-bit program you want to run on the 64-bit system. If it is a file you downloaded, it will be located in the "Downloads" folder. If you are installing the program from a disc, open the "Computer" folder, then open the disc that contains the installer program. Double-clicking on the file will activate the installer.

    • 2). Follow the on-screen instructions through the installer program until reaching the screen where you can select the installation location. On Windows Vista 64-bit, the default installation location is "Program Files."

    • 3). Click "Browse" to change the location and navigate to "Program Files x86." It can be found by going to "Computer" and clicking on "Program Files x86."

    • 4). Press "OK" to confirm the selection and finish the installation process.

    • 5). Run the 32-bit program by opening the "Start" menu and selecting it from "All Programs."
