- 1). Start the engine of the Kawasaki Lakota and allow it to warm up for about five minutes. Turn off the engine.
- 2). Locate the small, black engine oil cap on top of the crank case. Twist the oil cap counterclockwise to remove it. Wipe the oil off of the dip stick with a shop rag. Replace the dip stick in the crank case.
- 3). Remove the oil cap and look at the oil level on the dip stick. If the oil level is at the "FULL" line, then no engine oil needs to be added. If the engine oil level is at the "ADD" line, than engine oil needs to be added.
