- Sport foam tape is designed for athletic purposes. The tape is strong and supportive and can be used for soft casts. You often see this type of tape on animal casts that need to be changed frequently. Rolls of tape are usually two and half inches wide although wider and narrower tapes are also available. The tape is durable and hard wearing and sold in a wide variety of colors.
- One of the most notable properties of sport foam tape is its sticky features. This tape loves itself and grabs hold of itself very firmly, but it doesn't love other things like your skin, hair or clothing. This means that you can use the tape without worrying that it will be hard to remove. When you shape the tape into a head band you can use the head band several times before you need to discard it. This makes the head band easy to carry with your sports gear.
- The fastest way to make a headband on the fly is by wrapping the tape around your neck and bringing the ends 6 inches below your chin. Tear the tape with your fingers. Place the tape on a flat surface and roll it along its length. Bring the tape back around your neck. Slide the tape up over your hair and tie a secure knot at the top. Twist the tape to the nape of your neck and you are ready to play.
- To show school or team colors use three strands of tape, two in one color and one in a different color. Roll up your strands. Tie the three rolls together with a knot 1 inch from the end. Hook the knot over something secure and braid right over left, left over right keeping your braid tight. Slide your braid around your neck. Bring the headband up and tie it at the top. Cut off the first knot and any ends. This will give you a colorful and useful headband.
