Defragmentation Is Not Working on WinXP SP2

    • 1). Click "Start" and choose "Run." Enter "cmd" into the dialog box. Press "Enter" on your keyboard.

    • 2). Enter the system directory. Type in the command "cd \windows\system32" and press "Enter."

    • 3). Enter the command "regsvr32 dfrgsnap.dll" and press "Enter." Input the command "regsvr32 dfrgui.dll" and press "Enter" again. Type "exit" to close the Command Prompt.

    • 4). Open "My Computer" from your desktop. Navigate to "C:\Windows\Inf" and locate the file named "dfrg.inf" in the window. Right-click the file and choose "Install" from the pop-up menu. Allow the installer to run.
