How to Make Cutout Cards

    • 1). Draw petals on colored paper and cut them out. Make sure that the petals are almost the same size and shape. Four to six petals is a good amount to make this work. You can use paper in a variety of colors to make the petals stand out. Magazine images that have bright, glossy colors will do the trick, too.

    • 2). Glue the petals together, starting with one and connecting all of them at the tip. Use a cotton swab or a paintbrush to apply the glue.

    • 3). Fold a sheet of card stock in half. Decorate it specifically for the occasion. If this were Mother's Day, for example, you could decorate the card to say, "Happy Mother's Day." Glitter and craft glue will work fine for this.

    • 4). Glue the flower to the desired location on the card. Punch out a circle that will make the center of the flower. Yellow paper would do nicely for this, but any other color will also work. Yellow is a good color to use because it gives the look of an actual flower, but get creative and use whatever color works best. Take the punched-out circle and glue it to the center of the flower.

    • 5). Make green leaves for the petals and cut them out. Glue them around the area of the card, but not touching the petals. The leaves can be glued down all the way so none of the sides are lifting up and still have a great look.

    • 6). Use this type of cutout for any form of card-making. By exchanging the petals for Christmas trees, you can make Christmas cutout cards. Whatever you have in mind, just have fun with it and change things around a little bit.
