- 1). Research the logos of other business, and note what you like about them and what makes them stand out. The most effective logos tend to be simple, and thus age well.
- 2). Make various pencil sketches of design possibilities for your logo. Draw letters freehand or use letter stencils. Explore specific themes that could represent the nature of the business. For example, if you're designing a logo for coffee shop, the symbol and font that you use should make it obvious that they represent a coffee shop.
- 3). Add color to your logo sketches using art marker pens.
- 4). Pick out the logo design you like the best. Re-draw a finished, neat version on paper.
- 5). Scan the logo design into the computer. Enhance the image as needed using your photo imaging program. Save the logo image to your pictures or another designated folder.
- 6). Open the logo in Microsoft Word or Publisher to add letterheads, or upload it to your website if it's complete.
- 1). Open Microsoft Paint to start designing your logo.
- 2). Resize the page. Click on "File" and then on "Page Setup" to reorient your page. Change the margins so that the page is just big enough for your logo design.
- 3). Create a shape, symbol or add a pre-existing image. Select a shape or drawing tool from the menu bar. Draw a simple symbol -- which could be as simple as a circle with another shape included within it -- or illustration, or open the pictures folder to use your own image. Add text using using a text box but choose a font and color that will be appropriate for your business.
- 4). Save your logo design to your pictures or another designated folder.
