- 1). Lightly draw a circle with a rounded lump at its bottom left corner. Lightly draw a rectangle that hugs the top right of the circle. This is the face of the rose. These three shapes form the basic body of the rose.
- 2). Attach a darker crooked line from the lump and arch it downward to form the stem. Add a line parallel to this one to give the stem thickness.
- 3). Create petals with darker lines, beginning from the bottom left near the lump. Each petal should overlap others, wrapping like ovals around the body of the rose. After the exterior petals are drawn, the interior petals that appear at the very top of the circle should be no more than curved lines. These lines are the edges of the petals inside the rose and are drawn inside the rectangular area.
- 4). Draw darker lines coming off the stem in both directions to form small leaf stems. Add rose leaves, which are petal-shaped ovals with jagged edges, to make leaves on the ends of the leaf stems. Make leafs different sizes to add realism.
