- 1). Sketch the frames of the glasses. Do not worry about the glass lenses, as sketching the frames accurately will make that part of the drawing easier. Getting the sketch of the frames right will also help when it comes to drawing the eyes, as they will be framed and, consequently, centered.
- 2). Draw the eyeglasses, first of all, from the top of the frames over the eyes. With the sketch already in place, you only need to go over it with very delicate, overlapping and flowing pencil strokes, gradually building up the density of the dark parts of the frame. Then concentrate on drawing the lighter shaded areas.
- 3). Move on to draw the varied shading of the lenses. This needs to be done very carefully, so sketch in a rough outline of the eyes and then work around them, looking for areas of shade.
- 4). Look for how the shade from the frames of the glasses impacts on the face of the subject. This can be an area which is overlooked, when concentrating mainly on drawing the glasses themselves.
- 5). Compare, methodically, each area of the eyeglasses with your drawing. Add or remove anything where required. Just tiny details can make a big difference in how accurate your drawing is. This shouldn't be a lengthy process, however, if your basic drawing is good.
