How to Draw a Funny Drag Race Car

    • 1). Draw a rectangle lengthwise to illustrate the body of your funny drag car. This rectangle gives you the basic shape and dimensions you want to work with as you continue to draw your car. Also, funny illustrations almost always involve exaggeration of common features. The body of your drag racer should be either proportionally shorter or longer than a real drag racer.

    • 2). Add a semi-circle on top of the rectangle to represent the top of the car. You will add in features such as windows and a driver later on, if you'd like. Again, make sure the semi-circle is exaggerated.

    • 3). Add one large circle on the bottom of the back of the rectangle and one small circle on the bottom at the front. These circles will represent the large and small tires drag racers have. The back wheel should be a large part of the illustration, so make sure to draw it as a prominent feature of your drawing. A large rear wheel is a tell-tale sign of a drag racer.

    • 4). Draw a square where the hood of the car is located to represent the engine block. Drag racers tend to have large engines that protrude from the hood. This is a significant feature of drag racers you'll need to add and exaggerate so your audience will recognize your car as a drag racer.

    • 5). Fill in the features of your car with the shapes you have drawn. Add rims, decals, smoke or anything else you think will add to the character of your illustration.

    • 6). Add cartoon eyes where the headlights should be to give your funny drag racer life. You can even draw a front fender as a mouth or draw cartoon eyebrows over the eyes for added personality.

    • 7). Draw a used parachute in the rear of your illustration. Drag racers use parachutes to slow down after a race. This will be one of the best details you can add to your drawing to let people know that your funny cartoon is a drag racer.
