How to Make Your Own Camo-Colored Shirt

  • 1). Visit your fabric retailer and purchase a long-sleeved shirt pattern and the camouflage fabric you wish to use for your shirt.

  • 2). Lay the fabric on a flat surface in front of you and place the pattern on top of the fabric. You should have a separate pattern piece for the front, back, right sleeve and left sleeve of the shirt. Pin the pattern to the fabric with sewing pins.

  • 3). Cut around the pattern carefully using sewing scissors. Remove the sewing pins from the fabric and place the pattern to one side. Place the two sleeve pieces to one side.

  • 4). Place one piece of the shirt body on top of the other. Match the side seams, neckline and bottom of the shirt. Pin the side seams together with sewing pins.

  • 5). Fold over the fabric allocated for the neckline and pin it in place all the way around with sewing pins.

  • 6). Fold over the fabric allocated for the hem and pin it in place all the way around with sewing pins.

  • 7). Sew along the side seams with your sewing machine. Sew around the neckline and the hem with your sewing machine.

  • 8). Lay your shirt on a flat surface in front of you. Place the shirtsleeves in the allocated space on each side of the shirt and pin them into place with sewing pins. Pin each sleeve together with sewing pins to create the under-arm seam.

  • 9). Sew each sleeve onto the shirt with your sewing machine. Sew the under-arm seam of each sleeve with your sewing machine.

Turn your shirt right side out and try it on.
