- 1). Click "File" and "Open" to open the photo file you want to turn into line art. Your image will appear in a GIMP workbook.
- 2). Click "Filters," "Artistic" and "Photocopy." A Photocopy dialog box will appear. Check the "Preview" box to see a preview of what your line art will look like as you adjust the settings.
- 3). Increase the Mask Radius if you want your lines to be thicker, and increase the Sharpness if you want your lines to be more crisp and less blurred. For line art, you will likely want to minimize the mask radius and maximize the sharpness.
- 4). Adjust the Percent Black and Percent White according to your preferences, and click "OK."
