How to Make a Pinata Donkey Using Water & Glue

    • 1). Blow up one of the balloons all of the way. Blow the other balloon up about halfway. Tape a paper towel roll to the base of the smaller balloon. Cut the other end of the paper towel roll at an angle. Tape the other end of the paper towel roll to the knotted end of the larger balloon.

    • 2). Cut two paper towel rolls in half. Tape each section to the bottom of the large balloon to make legs.

    • 3). Cut rounded ears from cardboard and a cardboard tail. Tape the ears to the top of the head and the tail to the back of the body.

    • 4). Tear newspaper into 2-inch wide strips.

    • 5). Mix two parts water and one part white glue. Dip the strips of paper into the glue mixture and drape over the donkey form. Add a total of four layers of paper.

    • 6). Allow the pinata to dry for 24 hours. Cut a small hole in the top of the pinata.

    • 7). Decorate the pinata with paint, or glue small squares of colored tissue paper over the donkey body. Draw on eyes, a mouth and nostrils. Allow the paint or glue to dry for two or three hours.

    • 8). Fill the pinata with candy. Tie a string around the donkey’s body to hang it from a tree branch during the party.
