How to Use CFG Files

    • 1). Open Microsoft Notepad. Click the "Start" button, click "Accessories," then click "Notepad."

    • 2). Open the configuration file. Click "File" in Notepad's top menu bar, then click "Open."

    • 3). Navigate to the folder containing the file in the pop-up Explorer interface. Double-click the file to open it in Notepad.

    • 4). Edit the desired entries. Most programmers use meaningful tags for variables like "fullscreen," "soundDevice" or "allowAutoUpdates" are common. Argument values may be a bit more obscure.

    • 5). Save and close the file when editing is complete. Click "File" and then "Save" in the Notepad menu bar.
