How Do I Clean an Electric Grill?

    • 1). Let the grill cool slightly, which shouldn't take more than 10 to 20 minutes since it is run off electricity and begins to cool as soon as it is shut off.

    • 2). Use a scraper to get off any charred debris that developed during cooking. Wipe this debris into a paper towel and discard.

    • 3). Wipe the grill grates with a wet sponge to remove grease. The water and grease will run into the drip pan underneath the front of the electric grill. Make sure to wipe all grates clean on top and bottom (if there is a top part like on the smaller George Foreman grills).

    • 4). Empty the drip pan into the trash and wipe it clean with a paper towel to remove all the grease.

    • 5). Clean all of the electric grill pieces. You may be able to wash them in the dishwasher, but if not you can soak them in the sink and hand-dry the equipment.

    • 6). Wipe the grill completely dry to avoid any rusting or chance of grease buildup later.
