- 1). Put the pencil on the long edge of the paper and roll it into a tube. Tape the tube together with three or four pieces of masking tape and take the pencil out. This completes the body of your car.
- 2). Draw a line down the center of a separate piece of cardboard. On one side of the cardboard draw two large circles with your compass that are 2 inches in diameter. On the other side of the cardboard draw two circles that are 1 inch in diameter. Put a hole in the center of all four circles with a hole puncher.
- 3). Open the paper clips by unfolding them like a pocket knife. Make the paper clips as straight as possible. There should now be two straight paper clips. Cut a 4-inch piece of straw for the rear axle. Cut a 2 ½-inch piece of straw for the front axle.
- 4). Run a paper clip through the front and rear axles and bend the ends with the pliers. Tape the 1-inch-diameter wheels to the bent ends of the paper clip of the front axle, and do the same for the 2-inch-diameter wheels and the rear axle. At the center of the front axle, tape the body tube and the front axle together with masking tape. At the center of the rear axle, tape the body tube and the rear axle together. The car is now complete.
