- 1). Fill the fuel tank with fuel.
- 2). Open the fuel cap and pour in the appropriate amount of fuel stabilizer into the tank. Refer to the label on the fuel stabilizer bottle for proper ratio amounts.
- 3). Remove the drain plug at the bottom of the boat with a wrench.
- 4). Remove the engine cover. Locate the spark arrestor on top of the carburetor. The spark arrestor is a round air filter held on by one nut. Remove this nut with a wrench and pull the spark arrestor off the carburetor.
- 5). Attach the out drive muffs to a garden hose. Place the muffs onto the out drive over the water-sucking vents. Turn the water on.
- 6). Start the engine and let it idle for at least 10 minutes. This will allow the stabilized fuel to reach the carburetor.
- 7). Fog the carburetor by spraying fogging oil directly into it until the engine stalls. This will keep the fuel from varnishing the carburetor.
- 8). Turn the water source off and remove the out drive muffs.
- 9). Reinstall the spark arrestor onto the carburetor. Tighten the nut with a wrench.
