T-Shirt Remake Ideas

    Tie-Dye

    • Since it was first refined in China and Japan around 600 AD, tie-dye has been a popular trend among many cultures. Tie-dye gained popularity in the United States during the Roaring 20s and again in the 1960s, and since has been a way for people to represent themselves through a unique blend of colors and patterns. Tie-dye your old T-shirt with the folding pattern and coloring of your choice and make a statement about your playful or artistic personality.

    Paint Splatter

    • Many artists have inadvertently spilled paint on their clothes while working on projects. Turn such accidents into a trendy T-shirt. To create a colorful and whimsically splattered tee, select acrylic paints or dyes of your choosing, load the paint onto a paint brush and flick your wrist to splatter paint across the shirt. Continue to splatter paint onto the shirt using different colors until you are satisfied with the design.

    Spray Paint Stencil

    • Remake a faded T-shirt by creating your own logo or design for the front of the shirt. Don't worry if you don't have access to any screen printing equipment: you can turn your tee into a work of art by using a stencil and paint technique. Purchase or create a stencil with the desired design. Lay the stencil flat on the T-shirt. Block off any exposed areas of the T-shirt that you would like to remain the shirt's original color. Spray paint the shirt. Remove the stencil once the paint has dried.

    Iron-On Design

    • If you would like an artistically designed shirt but don't have much skill at drawing or painting, use a computer to generate designs and messages for your T-shirt. Using an iron-on design will allow you to create a picture perfect image and prevent you from worrying about making mistakes during the artistic process. Print out the designs onto iron-on T-shirt transfer paper using an inkjet printer. Cut away any parts of the paper you don't want on the tee. Transfer the image onto your old T-shirt using an iron.
