- 1). Position the gauge package in a convenient location and mount the frame only. Locate the oil pressure sending unit on the engine. Remove the sending unit and install the adapter that comes with the gauges. Unravel the plastic hose from the kit and straighten it out as much as possible. Put the hose through the opening for the gauge in the bracket and install the octagon head nut with the hole in the head of it. Push the hose through the hole in the head of the nut with the threads facing the end of the hose. Slide the nut up the hose about 2 inches and install the ferrule (the small ring). Install the hose end into the gauge and push the nut with the ferrule toward the gauge. While pushing in on the hose, tighten the nut onto the gauge. Run the hose through the firewall and keep it clear of all hot surfaces. Attach it the same way to the oil pressure adapter.
- 2). Install the water temperature gauge by carefully unraveling the metal sensor line and bulb. Do not bend the line more than necessary---it can break if you're not careful. Run the line through the opening in the gauge bracket and through the firewall. Locate the water temperature sender and remove it. Insert the adapter from the kit. Apply Teflon tape on the threads of the adapter and the nut that holds the temperature-sensing bulb. Insert the temperature-sensing bulb into the adapter and install the nut on the line above it and tighten.
- 3). Install the voltmeter by attaching the battery positive wire to the fuse in the driver's side fuse panel or to any wire that has power continuously with the key off. Attach the negative side to a good ground.
- 4). Attach all the positive wires for the instrument lights together with butt connectors and attach the other end of the butt connector to a wire for the instrument panel lights. Use the voltmeter to probe the wires from the headlight switch to find a wire that has power with the panel lights. Connect the negative side of the lights to a good ground. Install the gauges into the bracket.
