How to Remove Wallpaper From XP Professional

    Removing or Replacing Wallpaper

    • 1). Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Navigate to and select "Display."

    • 2). Click on the tab marked "Desktop." This menu displays your current wallpaper and presents other available wallpaper.

    • 3). Click on "None" if you want to remove the wallpaper from your desktop. If you want to replace it with different wallpaper, click on the wallpaper you want to use.

    Deleting Wallpaper

    • 1). Click "My Computer" and select your hard drive. Browse to the "Windows" folder.

    • 2). Enter the "Web" folder, and then enter the "Wallpaper" folder. Browse through the folder to find the wallpaper you want to delete. Right-click the wallpaper and select "Delete." If you do not see the wallpaper you want to delete, it may be located in a different folder.

    • 3). Access "Display" through your Control Panel. Click on the "Desktop" tab. Locate the wallpaper you want to delete in the list. Note its file name. Write it down if necessary.

    • 4). Click "Start" and select "Search." Type in the file name of the wallpaper, or a portion of the file name. Click "Search" to locate the wallpaper file. Right-click the file and select "Delete."
