How to Remove the Windows Search Deskbar

    • 1). Click the Windows "Start" button. Type "cmd" into the text box and press "Enter." This opens the Windows command prompt.

    • 2). Type "%systemroot%\$NtUninstallKB907371-V2$\spuninst\spuninst.exe /q" and press "Enter." The "/q" switch sets the uninstall on silent mode. It only takes a few seconds to remove the software.

    • 3). Remove the package from the registry. Type "Msiexec.exe /x {7d1dcbba-f6f5-42b4-b90b-f04ace4dfd6c} /qn" and press "Enter." This removes the product code from the Windows registry.

    • 4). Reboot your computer. The change take effect the next time you boot your computer.
