- 1). Apply a coat of low fire clear crackle glaze to the glazed surface of a previously fired glazed object. Allow the coat to dry thoroughly. Apply one to two more coats depending on the amount of crackle desired.
- 2). Place the item in a kiln on ceramic stilts.
- 3). Fire the kiln at the appropriate cone level. Note: A low fire clear crackle glaze is set at either a cone 4 or 5 depending on the chemical make-up of the glaze mixture.
- 4). Allow the kiln to cool. Remove the low fire clear crackle glaze item from the kiln.
