- 1). Cut off both of the sleeves from your sweater at the shoulder seam and turn them inside out.
- 2). Smooth out the sweater sleeves length to length and place the wide end of the sleeves on top of each other. The fabric should be overlapping slightly so the curves of the sleeves meet each other. This allows the sweater sleeves to make a straight scarf rather than having edges that stick out unevenly.
- 3). Sew the seams of the sleeves together. Take care to sew only the seams, not the tube part of the scarf.
- 4). Turn the sleeves right side out for a very basic scarf. You can wear your scarf as it is, or choose to decorate it further.
- 5). Decorate your scarf. Attach buttons and beads using a hot glue gun. You can also use scraps of fabric or felt to create a fun design, such as flowers or snowflakes. Glue or sew these designs to the scarf, depending on how detailed you want the design to be.
