< Continued from page 1

Dubbing - The Good and The Bad

The Pros

  • If the quality is good, its hard to tell the movie was dubbed at all.
  • Many of us hear faster that we can read, which makes a dubbed movie easier to keep up with.

The Cons
  • Poor dubbing is highly noticeable and distracts the viewer from the movie.
  • Sometimes, you lose some of the meaning in the translation.

Subbing - The Good and The Bad

The Pros

  • If the quality is good, the viewer gets the full meaning of what has been said.

  • The audio matches the facial expression, making the movie much more enjoyable to watch.

The Cons
  • Poor subbing can include misspelled words, letters written backwards and entire pieces of conversation ommitted completely.
  • If you're reading the words, how can you watch the show?
