- 1). Cut the lumber with a miter saw to length. Cut two top pieces, each 48 inches long, eight legs, each 32 inches, and four side supports at 44 inches long.
- 2). Place one of the 48 inch pieces flat on your work surface. This becomes the top of the saw horse. Put a pencil mark 2 inches from the end on each side, making four marks.
- 3). Adjust your saber saw to a 20 degree angle. Secure one of the 32-inch 2-by-4s on your work surface and carefully cut the end of the lumber, leaving the longer edge the original dimension. Repeat this process with the other three legs.
- 4). Apply some glue on the mitered end of the leg and place the outer edge against the previously made pencil mark. Use a drill and decking screws to attach the leg to the top rail. Repeat the process with the other three legs.
- 5). Make a pencil mark eight inches from the bottom of each leg. Place some wood glue on each end of a 44-inch side support. Position the support against the outside of the two legs with the bottom support edge against the mark. Use deck screws and the drill to attach the side support to the legs. Repeat the process on the other side.
- 6). Use a tape measure to find the size of the two end supports. Measure the longest distance between the side supports at the bottom. Transfer the measurements onto a 2-by-4 and cut them to size. Place the pieces on the end of the sawhorse and mark the angle on the backside of the lumber. Cut the angle with a miter saw. Check to make sure they are around 20 degrees. Place some wood glue on each end and secure them with deck screws and drill.
- 7). Remove all rough edges with sandpaper.
