How to Hang a Movie Screen Over a Large Window

    • 1). Measure away from your window by about 4 to 6 inches. Use a stud finder to locate the studs in your ceiling. Turn the stud finder on and it will locate the studs for you. Mark each stud location with a light pencil mark. Use a measuring tape to make sure the marks are in a straight line.

    • 2). Drill a hole about 1 inch deep and half as wide as the width of the hooks into the ceiling studs. Repeat this process for all the studs in front of your window.

    • 3). Screw the hooks into the holes in the ceiling. Use your fingers to screw in the hooks until they are flush against the ceiling.

    • 4). Hang the movie screen onto the hooks, facing away from the window. Pull down on the screen to cover the window.
